I may be wrong, so don't use this information without double checking me, but I'm pretty sure the flavor depends on the sugar from the FLOWER, as each type of flower has it's own distinct flavor, hence the different kinds of honey (Acacia, Clover, Lavender, ect...,) and to actually make the thick, golden liquid, a? chemical reaction occurs within the bee's body as it drinks and regurgitates the nectar over and over again.

so if honey is 80% sugar and 20% water, does that mean you could create? it's chemical equivalent with just sugar and water in your kitchen? or is there some chemical reaction that only happens in bee hives that would prevent one from achieving this?

i think it means that it's the? only food that's MADE by animals. most foods come FROM animals, but honey is the only one that's "manufactured."

The difference between manufacturing of food and excreting food is that there is an external? process that the -manufactured- food goes through in order to be edible. Milk is produced to feed babies, but it only goes through one process to be edible.

Yes, I found that a bit strange about the description too. Although I didn't take it quite as litterlly as them having a conscious. I thought more allong the lines of: they don't really produce it for themselves the way chickens produce lay eggs to make? babies, and cows make milk to feed their calves. But then I remembered that they produce honey for their larvae, so. . . .
