I was referring? to the Yosemite Decimal System. Class 1 is walking, Class 5 is vertical climbing. 5.16 is theoretically the hardest climb. If I'm not mistaken, summitting can often involve class 3--5 climbing by the YDS. Not always. Were you to ascend the same face that the cable car does, you would be into Class 3 or 4 for sure.

Alpine climbing is more of a fast and light weight style of climbing where you take the bare essentials so that you can ascend to the summit and down faster as opposed? to expedition styles. It doesn't really mean take a ride to the summit lol, i have a hunch this video is filmed while on a course? would make much more sense. Are you thinking of M1-3 graded climbing?

Ahhh...I see. The footage will never look as good since the ContourHD resolution is 1280x720 and the POV1.5 is 720x480 (SD). Make sure you export at best possible? quality before you upload. Take a look at some of the VIO video in our channels to compare.

I was there in 99 and it was a crazy Year... Like Agr0wat told, this year a communal building burn...the Mont blanc tunnel... very bad Year !!! And poor families... but a lot of houses were in a Dangerous zone and have been constructed in the past with more flexible laws.... Chamonix stays a very? nice place where it's magic to ski.... and where you will always find a nice international community !

@fayik123 Mont Blanc is a mountain not an area of france and the mountain is the tallest in europe, unless your bike has ski's attatched you are going to have serious problems trying to go anywhere above 4000m as this is snow covered for much of the year. Oxygen is not? required in the alps and altitude does not effect most people until around 4000m and does not get dangerous until around 7000m so is not needed. Consider the bavarian alps for mountain biking between Germany and Austria.

Hi, You shouldn't really be going out into the English Lake District in the winter without any winter skills not to mention the Alps. I would seriously consider hiring a guide at the very minimum and if you do insist on going it along you? are taking a massive risk.

Thanks for posting this video...I climbed Mont Blanc 16 years ago (summited 8th August 1994). This has brought back so many memories - crap weather acclimatising in the Aiguille Rouge, higher routes on the Aiguille du tour and Argentierre and finally the big one...Only 2 of 7 of us made the summit... Summit shots were the same? too...sillouettes with a sunrise behind. Without a doubt the best thing I've ever done. Thanks for bringing the pain, fear and elation back to me!

It is an extreme environment up there, I think some? folk think its a walk in the park little do they know a large number of people die on that mountain each year. Some even say it is the most deadliest mountain in the world because of the death rate. Did you make the summit? So all in all would you recommend a guide lol?

I found the climb shit scary especially as we had no guide. The scramble from tet rouse? to gouter was intense as we had weighty packs and an older man coming down tripped and fell v.close to us and died sadly. It showed us all it takes is a slip off a loose rock and you are going to fall a long way. We had an awful week for rockfalls, 6 died in one day around the couloir area. The size of the boulders and frequency of the falls was a lot worse than average.

It was a valuable and maturing experience going as a team without a guide. When you take a guide you place all your trust in him, If he says you can go, you go, he takes the responsibility. I saw how in dire situations the guide will always protect himself before his group and they are often left vulnerable and frankly not clued up to deal with the situ themselves. We saw 7 die so realise the danger but in all situations guides? would have simply added to the casualtie

I climbed it with some friends unguided. We had a good guide book, anf he route is well marked, so many people? climb it each year. But, around 40 people a year also die on it. so be prepared. You will need some serious kit. We didnt, we were lucky, but t could have ended very differently. Its a dangerous place. Good luck!

At the end of the day it is up to you. You have to remember this is a high altitude climb I can't reiterate this enough this terrain is not for the inexperienced and no offence but you sound very inexperienced to me from the first comment you made. MB is an extreme situation, climbing in high altitude for the first time requires a highly experienced mountaineer who knows the signs? of acute mountain sickness hence a guide.

Most guides simply wouldn't take you out if there was a chance visibility could go that way, meaning you would have to pay him but you would just sit on your ass in the refuge all day. I know about the variability of weather in the mountains but forecasting has? come on and I am leaving a sufficient summit window to wait for perfect weather. Why pay for a guide if you will only need their expertise in the most extremes of situations where you pretty fucked with or without them.

It's surprisingly stable. When everything is? tightened it is quite rigid. I use an aluminum tripod rather than carbon fiber, and I think that helps. My pack with the camera, 5 film holders and 3 big lenses is only about 25 pounds. I'm really happy with it and thinking about getting a 4x5 as well.

It appears to be a very well designed camera. I love how compact it is when folded up and it must be? very light weight. I am curious about it's stability, though - not to suggest that it wouldn't be stable but it's been my experience that lightweight 8x10" cameras are often very unstable and act like a sail in the wind. I would like to try one.

Does he knows that its is the first section of the old AdM cablecar, wich is now used as a high voltage power line? The two thick ropes are the old cablecar-ropes, but the trhee? thinner ones below are under electricity. To ride a powerline itselfes is not dangerous as far as you're not connected to the earth, but if he touches one of the lower cables in the same time as the upper ones hes getting to be grilled... Excellent video to watch even for a non-skier.When? you come out of cable car at the top are you allowed to walk on the snow if you are not skiing?

Hi Marco . Thanks for the comment. I advice you? to use a guide and the guide will take you the route after your abilitys and wishes. Remember its on a iceberg and cracks can be under the snow thats 200m deap, I remember the guide pointed 1 meter in front of us in the new fresh pouder snow ....there you will fall 200m....and come down where the iceberg ends in 500years ... Take care and I wish you a great trip. This is one of the best skiing experiances there is , maybe you get some powder to ;-)

Not shure of? the name of the music , the original music was removed from the movie and I put new music on from youtube library, does fit pretty good I think.
