This is such a beautiful song from The Cure. I have been getting introduced to this band lately by my best friend and I have to say,? I am very impressed with the quality of music this band produces. I find the name Plainsong to be such an odd name for such a beautiful song. I am floored by this song. What more can I say? Awesome band! :-) ?

The sign of a good band is that no one can copy, the Killers etc. all sound like indie bands from the 80's but no one dares to copy the Smiths and the Cure because they were one off's? truly orignal and excellent but you can't produce these kind of bands every year especially on X Factor but the record companys would like to try.

Oh I liked your comment SO much! :d I was stuck, stuck STUCK in studying myself (like nearly 20 years ago) and all I would ever listen? to was The Cure. Every single book/ calendar / diary I had was absolutely *full* of pictures of them, of Robert, lyrics or you name it. I love them dearly even today. (AND they sometimes remind me of long nights when studying just felt impossible). Good luck!

It's not to everyone's taste...If you feel you can't 'get into it' don't try... it's not like you 'need' to...not everyone apreciates The Cure...I've been a fan since 1980...but I don't like every track they have done...in fact? I'm not a big fan of this one either...but then I like 'The Top'...and not everyone else will. try listening to 'Bananafishbones'....

it either clicks or it doesn't.music now sounds bizzare and off beat to me.which probably explains why mainstream teenagers/adults like simplistic remakes of their songs but not them.there is a layered order to it and it flows rather nicely.I can honestly say I like quite a few from them.and the other ones I appreciate for the abstractness and instrumental talent alone.I think this song would have held great appeal to century old? composers.beautiful.love the windchimes.

However, it is very difficult because I feel that the lyrics and? the beats do not match and I think that most of the songs are just a compilation of bizarre electronic sounds and random lyrics thrown together. We should all try and make this the Christmas number one this year. A beautiful and anything but "plain" song filled to the brim with so much love and warmth but tinged with a hint of reflective yet soulful melancholy. Nick Park knows a thing or two about art and he lists this song as his favourite of all time - a distinction he now shares with? my wife.

I actually LOVE the way this version strips away the sugary synthy parts of the dream and stays with the other bits even when it hurts. The high guitar line that (almost) follows the lyrics is like another voice in itself, but the song it is singing is a little different from the song Robert is singing. The interplay between those two slightly different songs adds another? dimension to an already awesome song. THIS is the definitive Plainsong, IMNSHO. Thanks for posting it, antoe123.

Thank you sooo much for posting this video! It finally satisfied my curiosity on how Plainsong would sound like without keyboards. Must say? I still prefer it with keys, it is fuller and more ethereal. But this still sounds amazing! I wish one day I'd get to hear it live, keys or no! New York, Robert??

I always thought this song with keyboards sounded too thick and drowned out everything else in the song. Because of that reason it was always the track I skipped on "Disintegration". As? I listen to it without the keyboard and even this far into The Cure's career it sounds excellent.

I am so glad this song is captured live with Porl's grindy guitar!!!! I absolutely LOVE this version as opposed to the original now! It sounds awesome on vid - but multiply it by 1000 and that's how good it is LIVE!!!! With it SO LOUD!!! The music completely? envelopes you and carries you to another level!!!
