I'm saying the entire motive behind this crackdown is based on the hundreds and eventually thousands of lawsuits lined up. Of course brain injuries matter and players should be told the risks when they entire the league and the players should have been told sooner because this information has been out there for 20 years or more but the NFL ignored it. Goodell ignored it until a couple of? years ago.

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. Recent studies have shown a large portion of former NFL players having traumatic head injuries due to the constant damage? they are receiving to the head. He isn't turning this game into a pee wee flag football league, he's doing what's best for every individual player after they leave the game. Three recent suicides of former NFL players each of them have proven to have dramatic damage to the brain. I applaud him for worrying about safety.

While Goodell has indeed offered no proof, the dissection of game film made on subsequent sports shows are proof enough for the public. I agree, it is many decades late to start caring about player safety, but that in no way is defamation. The Saints are simply the first team to be punished for breaching these new safety measures.

Those are public statements by a figure that the public would have no reason to not believe. yet he's shown nothing that backs those claims and the Saints, including Vilma, dispute those claims. As to why the NFL would fabricate the "evidence"? 2000+ former players suing over player safety... now the NFL is trying to show? they care about player safety.

I've never liked Goodell before, because he was very quick to dish out heavy fines for small hits, but after his handling of the whole Bounty scandal I have to admit he has definitely earned my respect.
